I ADORE the pure sassiness and expressiveness of his voice and body movement, it adds so much to the character. Even small details show how good this villan was, and the more i grow, the more I see how good his character is portrayed.

Looking back on this movie… holy crap. When he was looking around for a place to put down the baby and then they hinted at what was going to happen through the MUSIC!! In the background you can hear the song go “Dies Irae” which is a very famous Latin hymn for the dead, you will most likely recognize the tune as the theme of The Shining, but they were telling the audience that he was going to try and kill the baby even before he saw the well!!! Damn Disney, you used to be masters but now you’re clowns.

I've grown to love Kung Fu Panda 2 over time and its still my favourite, but man when it first came out i was actually angry at the goofiness that would ruin the brilliant tension that Shen was able to build.

God the amount of detail they put into him as a character with the amount of personality behind the screens is just amazing, I feel terrible knowing that he just wanted to make his parents proud, do something to impress them, succeed in something. But yet in their eyes they saw the opposite, and yet deemed him as the sickly albino peacock. And yet trying to continue what he thought was right, his fate was sealed. Truly the best written villainous character in KFP
